Document Control Center
For information about cases before the Commission, contact the Document Control
Center of the Clerk’s Office where documents related to cases before the SCC are
maintained. You may review unofficial copies of documents associated with Commission
cases through the Docket Search
portal. You may call to obtain official copies of documents for a fee, (804) 371-9838
or toll-free in Virginia at 1-866-722-2551. You also may visit the Document Control
Center to review documents in person. The Document Control Center is in the Clerk’s
Office, on the 1st floor of the Tyler Building.
Hearing Transcripts
Transcripts of SCC hearings are available from the Clerk’s Office. Generally, a
transcript is available within 14 days after the conclusion of the hearing.
An electronic version of the nonconfidential portions of a transcript will be posted
as a case document and be available via the
Docket Search portal of the Case Information page on the SCC web site.
A printed version of the transcript is available from the Document Control Center
at the cost of 50-cents per page.
Case participants may arrange for expedited and real-time transcription services
(an “expedited” transcript will be delivered by 4:00 p.m. on the next business day
after the session is transcribed). Requests for such service must be timely received
by the Commission’s bailiffs prior to the beginning of the hearing, and the participant
requesting the service will be billed accordingly for the incremental cost of the
service. Questions about special court reporting services should be directed to
the Commission’s bailiffs.
Public Witnesses
Appearing as a public witness in a case before the Commission requires only that
you arrive 15 minutes before the hearing begins and notify the Commission bailiff
of your wish to testify. The Commission’s courtrooms are located on the 2nd floor
of the Tyler Building. Due to enhanced security, you may be subjected to prescreening
security procedures. Please review the SCC Visitor Security
Guidelines. You are advised to call the bailiff before the hearing to be
sure the case will proceed as scheduled. The bailiff may be reached at (804) 371-9739
or toll-free in Virginia at 1-866-722-2551.
