How do I register for an account?

You can register for an account by selecting the Create a SCC eFile user account option from the SCC eFile system. Should you need assistance you may call the Clerk’s Office Call Center at (804) 371-9733 or toll-free in Virginia at 1-866-722-2551.

How do I reset my password?

You can reset your password by choosing the Forgot Password? option from the SCC eFile log-in page. Should you need assistance you may call the Clerk’s Office Call Center at (804) 371-9733 or toll-free in Virginia at 1-866-722-2551.

I am having difficulty with SCC eFile. Whom do I contact for support?

What are the hours during which support personnel are available?

Normal business hours, which are: Monday-Friday between 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Check the SCC's Scheduled Closings.

Which forms am I able to print online?

Forms and associated fees are available by selecting the appropriate business entity from the Forms and Fees page.

What happens to my information if I decide not to complete a transaction and close my browser?

Information related to an uncompleted transaction is not stored in SCC eFile and will be lost.

Which Internet browsers are compatible with SCC eFile?

The following browsers are supported: Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3 and Safari 5.

What is the function of the payment processor?

The Commission has contracted with a third party, Official Payments CorporationExternal Link logo, to provide a secure method for accepting on-line payments in SCC eFile on behalf of the Clerk’s Office.

How will a payment transaction appear on a credit card or bank account statement?

The payment will appear as two separate transactions on the credit card or bank account statement. One transaction will be described as "VA SCC Clerk’s Office," which reflects the portion of the payment associated with the fees collected on behalf of the Clerk’s Office. The other transaction will be described as "Official Payments – VA SCC Clerk’s Office," which reflects the convenience fee collected by the Commission’s payment processor, Official Payments Corporation.

What happens to the credit card or bank account information provided in connection with a payment in SCC eFile?

Payments made in SCC eFile are processed by the Commission’s payment processor, Official Payments Corporation. The Commission does not obtain or maintain customers’ credit card or other financial information.
