The 2007 General Assembly passed legislation that, among other provisions, established incentives to implement a renewable energy portfolio standard program.

Pursuant to Section 56-585.2.H, Virginia investor-owned utility companies have provided reports regarding overall generation of renewable energy and advances in renewable generation technology.
