Compensation
The State Corporation Commission strives to maintain a competitive compensation
program in order to be an employer of choice that attracts, retains, and motivates
a high-caliber workforce necessary for the continued success of the Commission.
The SCC has a competitive salary structure based on market
rates of private sector companies. A study is conducted annually to update the salary
structure to remain competitive. Merit increases are determined by individual performance,
not job tenure.
SCC employees are paid on the 1st and the 16th of each month for a total of 24 pay
periods. Direct Deposit is highly recommended.
Performance Appraisals and Merit Increases
The SCC established a pay-for-performance system to reward employees for their job
performance, not job tenure. Performance Appraisals are conducted annually with
reviews each quarter.
Quarterly appraisals are conducted to help you develop your job skills and to let
you know where you stand relative to your performance.
The purpose of the annual appraisal is to measure performance on established goals
and objectives for a merit increase. Merit increases are earned annually by employees,
upon recommendation of their supervisor, for demonstrating proficiency of job performance.
